Vertical stripes lengthen the figure and give an abaya a calm order. The Novella collection includes a black abaya with subtle vertical stripes and a light floral pattern across the fabric; an abaya with fine vertical lines, a structured high neckline, an adjustable waist belt and pockets; an abaya in bold vertical stripes of warm taupe and deep charcoal that follows the body before flowing into a full-length finish; and a black and white abaya with contrast lines and slim piping on the sleeves. Choose fine stripes for work and daytime, and bold contrast stripes when you want more presence at an occasion or in the evening. Keep the look calm with a plain shayla in one of the stripe shades. Any error in length or shoulder shows on a striped abaya, because the line shifts with it, so send your measurements on WhatsApp and the stripes will fall straight on you. Every design comes in sizes XS to XL and lengths 50 to 60, or can be tailored to you in our Doha atelier.

Do striped abayas make you look taller?
Yes. Vertical stripes lead the eye from shoulder to hem, so the figure reads taller and slimmer. Choose a length that ends just above the floor so the lines do not break at the feet.
Which shayla works with a striped abaya?
A plain shayla in one of the stripe shades. A patterned shayla over stripes crowds the look. With black and white stripes, wear black; with taupe and charcoal, wear brown or camel.
Are striped abayas suitable for work?
Yes, especially fine stripes with a high neckline and pockets: neat without being too formal. An adjustable waist belt lets you shape the cut to the day.
