How ready sizes work at Novella

Every Novella design on novellaabaya.com comes in five sizes, XS to XL, and eleven lengths, 50 to 60 inches. That gives 55 combinations for each of the 35 current designs, with prices from QAR 280 to QAR 700. You choose a size and a length and check out on the store, which shows the shipping details at checkout.

How made to measure works

Novella's size guide invites you to send your own measurements so the abaya can be tailored to you. Send them on WhatsApp with the design code, or book a fitting in the same chat and have them taken. Novella tailors its made-to-measure abayas in Doha and is based in Muaither, Al Rayyan.

A ready size is enough when

  • Your shoulder width and sleeve length match the same size on the chart.
  • Your shoulder-to-floor measurement lands on one of the eleven lengths.
  • You own an abaya that fits you, and its flat measurements match a size.
  • The cut is open-front or flowing, which forgives a small difference at the waist.

Made to measure is worth it when

  • Your shoulders point to one size and your hips to another.
  • Your arms are longer or shorter than the chart sleeve for your size.
  • You are under about 150 cm or over about 175 cm, where a standard length becomes a compromise.
  • The cut is tailored, such as a blazer collar or a waisted line, where a small difference shows.
  • You want an occasion abaya measured in a specific pair of heels.

Tailored cuts show the difference

A flowing abaya hides an inch here or there. A tailored one shows it. On a blazer cut such as Novella 007 or 014, the shoulder seam and the lapel line reveal any mismatch. On 013, the waist shaping sits where the chart places a waist, which may differ from yours. On 022, the top half follows the body, so it needs to follow yours.

What to send for a made-to-measure order

  • The design code, for example 013.
  • The ready size you would choose, as a reference point.
  • Your measurements with the unit beside each: full length, shoulder width, sleeve length, chest and armhole.
  • Your height and the heel height you will wear.
  • Any preference, such as a shorter sleeve for driving.

How long does a made-to-measure abaya take?

Ask on WhatsApp when you send your measurements, and plan around the answer the team gives you for that design. Before Ramadan and Eid, order as early as you can. For ready sizes ordered on the store, the shipping details appear at checkout.

Can I order made to measure without visiting?

Yes. Take your measurements at home with a soft tape and a helper, or measure an abaya that already fits you, and send the figures on WhatsApp with the design code. If you prefer, book a fitting through the same number and have them taken for you.

Which measurements matter most for the decision?

Shoulder width, sleeve length and full length. If all three match one size and one length on the chart, a ready size will fit. If any one falls between rows, made to measure gives the better result, since the abaya hangs from the shoulder and shows its length first.
